Sunday Stealing

Hi Readers! Happy Sunday.

I hope your weekend is going well. I would imagine most people are in full Christmas decorating mode. I, am not. RM#1 already decorated everything.

It's been a while, but I'm going to play along this week to Sunday Stealing. If you want to play along, click the link.

Let's get started....

What is your favorite possession? My car. It's the one and only thing I own that gives me a sense of accomplishment. It controls where I go and how fast I get there. I take car of her, and she takes care of me.

Do you like to read? If so, which books do you love best? I don't like to read books. I barely get through all the blogs I'm supposed to be keeping up with. Reading just isn't my thing.

Do you have any pets? I live with animal trainers who have, at any given time, five to ten dogs at the house. I do not need a pet of my own.

What was your favorite food as a child? Is it the same now? Hot dogs. I could eat them every single day, for every meal. When I was pregnant, it was the ONLY food that didn't make me throw up. Three meals a day, I ate hot dogs for seven months. The X, did not participate in this. He was pretty grossed out by the amount I could consume in one day.

What is your favorite thing about blogging? Just being able to say whatever I want and not care what people say.

If you could live anywhere, where would it be? Anywhere but California. I can't WAIT to move away from this state. Maybe Michigan, or Colorado, or Montana. No specific reasons as to why, just anywhere but Cali.

What is your favorite number? Twelve. Everything great comes in dozens. Roses, donuts, you get my point...

Which of these things would you find hardest to give up for a year? Chocolate, reading, coffee or smoking? Smoking for sure. I only eat chocolate a few times a year, don't enjoy reading much, and don't drink coffee. Guess that was easy.

If you could make your life into a movie, what would you name it.. and who would you want to play you? I would call it One Step Forward, Two Steps Back. I'd probably have Lindsey Lohan play me. Her desire to be lazy and not work, is a lot like mine.

If you had £20,000 for a shopping spree, what would you buy? A new car.

If you could eat lunch with one famous person, who would it be? Kyle Busch. :-)

I hope you learned something you didn't already know about me.
Have a fantastic Sunday!

Sunday Stealing

Happy Sunday, Readers. The race didn’t end very well for Kyle this week. I don’t know what is going on with that guy. Ok, I may have an idea. Or at least a theory. Didn’t Kevin Harvick recently give up his Nationwide ownership? Something like that, right? (I’m not a Harvick fan by ANY means, so my knowledge of what he does is minimal, at best.) Well, perhaps he did it because he wanted to focus more on winning in the cup series. Something Kyle Busch needs to think twice about. Now owning his own Nationwide team, there’s A LOT of pressure on him to succeed. I’m not saying he shouldn’t have done it, or should stop now that he’s started, but I do think it takes away from his time spent focused on winning at the cup level. But I could be totally wrong. Which is probably the case. Whatev.

Let’s play this instead…

Sunday Stealing: The April No Fools' Meme

  1. What was the last clothing item that you bought? A sweatshirt.

  2. If you could stay one age forever, what age would you choose? four years old.

  3. When you say “lol”, are you really laughing? Yes, on the inside. If I capitalize it, then I’m actually laughing out loud.

  4. What is the most interesting thing you’ve done in the past year? I got to meet Kyle Busch.

  5. If you started a business, what would it be? I would do people’s nails.

  6. Do your friends/family/coworkers know about your blog? Everyone knows about it. Some read it, some don’t.

  7. How long does it take you to write an average blog post? Depends on what I’m writing about. Sometimes it will take me days to draft up a post. Sometimes I can crank one out in 15 minutes. Just depends.

  8. How do you keep up with the blogs you follow? I use Google Reader most of the time. Sometimes, though, it’s straight to the site.

  9. What is your bedtime? Is sex always involved? Anywhere between 10p and midnight is when I finally fall asleep. Reading the news in bed on my iThingy is a sure fire way to fall asleep. I don’t live with my sex partner, so sex is rarely involved in my nightly routine. :-(

  10. Introvert or extrovert? Introvert.

  11. What is your biggest fear? Dying alone.

  12. What is the best job you ever had? The one I have right now. It’s the most money I’ve ever made, I can take 2.5hr lunches to have my nails done and nobody cares, and smoke breaks with the boss are allowed. Oh, and I get to see famous animals all day. Best.Job.Ever.

  13. Dog person/cat person/both/neither? Ha. With my job, you’d think I love animals. I don’t. My spending more time in the office than in the training house, allows me the perfect amount of animal time. It’s the seven/eight dogs at home that sometimes push me over the boiling point.

  14. If you had $1,000 to spend any way you wanted, what would you do with it? I’d love to say I’ll go shopping and buy some amazing outfits that fit my body just perfectly. But, the reality of it y’all, is I would put it towards repairs on my car.

  15. How do you "dress" your toast? Butter. Strawberry jelly on occasion.

  16. How do you feel about snow? I love to play in the snow. I love to throw snowballs at people and be chased and tackled in the snow. But, driving in it SUCKS!

  17. What was the worst job you ever had? I worked for an accountant right before I got my current job. I was way smarter than the position required me to be, and I hated that my skills weren’t being challenged. I quit after three weeks.

  18. What song can you not stop listening to?I don’t want this night to end” -Luke Bryan or “Mr. Right Now -Pitbull

  19. Love your name or hate it? Hate it. Always have. Probably always will. I have a few nicknames that I prefer. ;-)

  20. How did you choose your blog/twitter handle? My blog was chosen simply because what you read here is my blog ramblings. My twitter handle was chosen because, well, MsNscr is exactly what I am. So says my license plate. :-)

Sunday Stealing

I decided to play along this week..

Sunday Stealing: The Last March Meme

1. Which TV character do you think you are most like? Squidward, from Spongebob Squarepants.

2) What time do you go to bed? Between 11:30p and 2:00am. Depends on the day of the week.

3) What was the last meal you made from scratch? Who the heck knows. I’m not fond of cooking, so it’s not something I do often.

4) What is your favorite type of music? Country.

5) In what position do you sleep? My stomach, usually.

6) What is your first memory?  ----> This <---- is one of my earliest memories.

7) What is your least favorite smell? The bathroom, after a certain someone uses it.

8) It's your round at the pub and your friends asked you to surprise them. What drink would you buy and why? Jaeger Bombs, I guess. It’s the only kind of liquor I can stomach.

9) What was the last thing you read/watched that made you cry? This 2:49 story about jet engines.

10) They say that you learn something new every day. What was the last thing you have learned? That I CAN run the office by myself if need be.

11) Which Literary love interests would you snog, marry and avoid. Literary? This means it has to do with books. I don’t read books. Next.

12) What is your oldest memory? See #6

13) Paperback, Hardback or Kindle? Which of these is your favorite reading format and why? Well, I already mentioned I didn’t like to read books, but I guess if I was going to have to, I’d rather it be a hardback. There’s just something special about a solid, sturdy hardback book.

14) If you could bring back any canceled TV series for another run what would you pick and why? Hmm. Maybe Unsolved Mysteries, cause I used to LOVE that show. Or Friends.

15) Paperback, Hardback or Kindle? See #13

Sunday Stealing

Last week, I played along. I think I will this week too.

  1. Do you ever walk around the house naked? Hell yeah. I’ve been known to streak from the bathroom to the bedroom. And sometimes, from the bedroom to the garage. :-)
  2. If you were an animal what would you be? Why? A black Leopard. They’re beautiful, yet dangerous. I can be a beauty, and I can be a nightmare. Seems fitting.
  3. Hair color you like on someone you’re dating? I kind of have a liking for guys with dark hair. But it’s certainly not the hair I’m interested in.
  4. If suffering an injury, would you rather be left blind or deaf? Deaf. If I had to give up driving a car because I was blind, I’d be real upset. And fall into a deep depression. Not over being blind. Over not driving a car again. :-)
  5. Do you have any special talents? Well, I’ve had people tell me I should teach a class on how to give good blow… never mind. Yes. I have one special talent.
  6. What do you do as soon as you walk in the house? Take my shoes off.
  7. Do you like horror or comedy? Comedy. I’m too much of a chicken to watch horror movies.
  8. Are you missing anyone? Yes, and until the court papers are changed, I will continue to miss him.
  9. Where do you want to live when you are old? In a house on a lake.
  10. Who is the person you can count on the most? Myself.
  11. If you could date any celebrity past or present, who would it be? Maksim Chmerkovskiy. Oh the things I’d do to him.
  12. What did you dream last night? I don’t remember dreaming about anything. But the night before? That’s a totally different kind of dream. (see #5)
  13. What is your favorite sport to watch? NASCAR, baby!
  14. Are you named after anyone? No. I wish I was though. It would make having my name a little less sucky.
  15. What is your favorite alcoholic drink? Coors Light.
  16. Non alcoholic drink? Iced Tea
  17. Have you ever been in love? Yeah, a few times. In the worst of ways. :-(
  18. Do you sing in the shower? Not usually, but now that I’m gonna be alone for the next month, I’m totally gonna!!
  19. Have you ever been arrested? Yep. It’s no secret.
  20. What is your favorite Holiday? I don’t have a favorite holiday anymore. When  you don’t have family around to celebrate the holidays, they aren’t any fun. They’re just another day to get things done. I know that one day things will be different, and my views of the holidays will change drastically, but until then, it is what it is.
  21. Would you ever get plastic surgery? Yes. Definitely will have my boobs done one day. And if I could straighten out this crooked nose, maybe I’ll be able to breath just a little bit better. I often wonder what it would be like to breath out of BOTH nostrils.
  22. Have you ever caught a fish? yes! I used to fish with my dad when I was younger. I used to fish with my grandpa when I was younger. I used to fish with my stepdad when I was younger. And out of all those times, I’ve probably caught ten fish. I never did it for sport. I wasn’t hoping to bring home the biggest fish. We were Just Fishin’ and making memories.

Lovely Sunday

Hi Readers! How y’all doing?

It’s been a fabulous Sunday. It started off a bit weird, but that’s life. What can ya do about it?

Doorbell rang at 7am this morning. Ugh, really? I’m not expecting anyone. Maybe it’s an emergency. I open the door and there stands a man. I whisper “Can I help you” in the nicest 7am voice I could muster. He takes a step backwards and says, “I’m here to pick you up for the airport.” Ha. If only I was flying somewhere, I wouldn’t be so annoyed with the fact that I’m not at the Phoenix track this weekend. “Nobody at this address is flying anywhere. You have the wrong house.” He fumbled for a minute, obviously caught off guard, while I closed the door. I stood in the kitchen window watching him, and after a few minutes, he drove away. Hmm. He didn’t go to any other houses and knock on their doors. How could he possibly get the ENTIRE address wrong, not just the house number? Ugh! And all this at 7am.

Naturally, I couldn’t fall back asleep. I exchanged a few texts with a friend, and eventually, sleep came. I woke up just in time for driver introductions to the NASCAR race.

Once up, I freshened up so I wasn’t a walking zombie, played with the dogs for a bit, and realized, Hey! I’m gonna drive to McDonald’s and satisfy this Big Mac craving I’m having. I know. My mind is so random. And I don’t know why I do this, but when I go to McDonald’s, I can’t just order one thing I want to eat. I order several things that multiple people would eat. I’m not expecting company of any kind, but what if I get back home and wished I’d gotten nuggets? I don’t want to be annoyed that I don’t have any after driving there. And the Ranch Snack Wrap? Why the heck did I buy that? Old habits die hard. It’s just going to take some time.

Let’s see. What else is rambling around in my head?

I would rather see Carl Edwards win the NASCAR title, than Tony Stewart. Since the company I work for provides the animals for the Aflac commercials, I am obligated to cheer for Carl. I mean, come on. How cool would it be to have the Aflac duck at the awards ceremony with him? And if Tony wins, fine. I’ll be forced to listen to the taunting of the neighbors across the street, but it’s okay. Kyle wins way more than Tony does.

Sis & Squid are officially moved into their first place. Yay! Finally they can live as a married couple. No more Dad knocking on the door while their having sex. No more having to listen to Dad yell because they left their clothes in the dryer. Soon they’ll be going on their honeymoon, so NOT coming home to Dad’s house was very important. And I get to stay there while they’re away. Smile.

Congrats on your first place guys.

This will be part of my lovely view…

I’m obsessing over Luke Bryan’s new song I Don’t Want This Night To End. I wish he’d wear his pants one size larger. Just one. They look so funny on his butt. And he stands weird in them. But watch the video. I’ve watched it about 50 times. Can’t.Stop.Singing.It.

I’ve got some more car issues. And unfortunately, this doesn’t seem to be something I can do myself. I’m sad about this, because playing under the hood of my car has become something I rather enjoy. Sad face.

Dropbox is so convenient. I use it all the time. I’m so glad I was introduced to it. It prevents me from becoming annoyed with not being able to email something too big. I just say I’ll Dropbox it. So awesome.

I’m thinking about going for a walk. The race is over, my eggs for egg salad are done boiling, tea is almost done cooking out in the sun, meat is almost thawed for tacos tonight, and the dishes are clean. I think I’ll put my iPod on shuffle and just walk. I always get stopped at bff@work’s house, which is fine if mingling is what I want to do. Sometimes though, I just want to walk.

The NHRA guys were at Pomona this weekend. A few of our trainers mentioned they heard them while down at one of the lakes prepping for a job. Winter Nationals is something I’ve been to a few times. It’s an incredible experience, and if you’ve never been, it’s something I fully recommend. It will literally blow your mind. Being able to stand in the pits while they test out those rocket machines, is an experience you’ll never forget. Some people can’t stand there for longer than one or two seconds because the smell is so overwhelming, but that’s part of the experience. When your sitting in the stands, and one of them takes off, your eye balls rumble in your head. I swear. And for only 3 or 4 seconds, you’re reminded why you love racing. Why you love speed. And what you have in common with the thousands of other people sitting there with you.

Happy Sunday, y’all.

Funday Sunday

Whoa, Kyle Busch. What happened? I was away from my house today, so I was unable to watch the race. However, I did look at the standings and see that a 33rd place finish has brought Kyle down two points in the standings to 6th. OUCH!

Talladega is the kind of place, now, that requires the help of another car in order to be successful. Kyle doesn’t want to have to rely on anyone else out on the track. And most people feel they don’t particularly want to help Kyle. Rivalry is in this sport for a reason. He’s a One-Man-Show kind of guy, and this partner drafting crap isn’t pleasant to a guy who’s teammates can’t keep up. Plus, cars that don’t know how to drive with this kind of two-car drafting, ruin it for several of the others. Several cars were unnecessarily taken out of the race (Kyle included) because of lack of drafting skill. Listen up, drivers. This is your job. Figure out how to do it well. And if you can’t, find another career. Racing in NASCAR isn’t for everyone.

While out shopping today, I found these…

The perfect cute little hand towels to hang in the bathroom of Sis and Squid’s new apartment. Finally! A place of their own.

Every single time I go shopping, I lose my car in the parking lot. Unless I’m parked in the first spot in the row closest to the store, I have trouble. I’ll walk down isle after isle before finding it. I’ve actually seen people laugh at me. But it’s okay. Maybe I’ll be the subject of their blog for that day. :-)  To insure I didn’t lose my car today, we parked waaaaaay at the back. And the fastest way I knew to get back to my car, was …

Then…to make the day even better, RM#1 says she’s going away for the night. Awesome. I’m home alone. The only thing that would make it end perfectly, would be an ice cold iced tea. And a Big Mac. Yeah, a Big Mac. Mmm.

How hilarious is this laptop cover? I’d like to say that I want it, but I think I’d rather have the actual boobs than the cover. Ha. One day.

My best friend from elementary school got married last weekend. Thinking back on a conversation we once had about our wedding days and what it would be like to grow up, I have to say that NEITHER of us would have imagined our lives would have turned out the way they did. Congrats to her. I ♥ you, D.

See ya’ll later!

Weekend recap. Blah.

RM#1 has been out of town all weekend. I’ve had the house to myself to do what I want with. THIS is not how I had hoped it would go.

I was awaken Saturday morning at 5:30am by a violent urge to throw up. WTF? For the next 2.5hrs, I laid on my bathroom floor because it was too painful to keep getting up. I forced water down, but my body said no way. we don’t want anything and threw it up. I took Pepto and again my body laughed. I had to cancel my visitation with RJ because it would have been impossible to drive up there. The X said RJ was disappointed, but it wasn’t something I really had any control over. Clearly my body is trying to tell me something, and I really need to listen. Sorry RJ.

For 24 hours straight, I’ve felt like I just want to die. Two different people offered to come over and just sit with me so I wasn’t alone, but I refused. I tried to watch a few movies, but staying concentrated proved very difficult.

Today, I haven’t thrown up yet. (I guess the 80 times yesterday was enough.) My stomach muscles ache. My chest muscles feel like they’re on fire and it’s painful to take deep breaths. I wish I could sleep it off, but with the twitching of my muscles, and the tingling going on inside my body, sleep seems more like an imaginary thing than reality.

Oh how I wish I would feel better by tomorrow. I really dislike having to go to work sick. It’s never pleasant.

Happy Sunday readers!

Sunday Slowdown

13 years old, and she can still act like a puppy. There are times when she takes a pause before jumping up on the bed, but if let out in the front yard to play, you’d think she was a youngster. Meet Xena, an Akita mix.

xena1     xena face

Growing up, we had dogs and cats, but they were the “family” pets, so I wasn’t solely responsible for taking care of them. Once in a while I’d fill it’s water dish or it’s food bowl, but I never cleaned up after it or gave it the cuddly support it wanted. I left that to my sister and/or mom. I was allergic to cats (still am), so the cuddling most find so adorable with an animal, drove me over the breaking point, at times. With eyes so swollen up it was difficult to see, a nose that felt like someone had taken a fork and scratched the inside of it, and a sneeze that just kept going, I was determined to never own a pet as an adult.

Fast forward – Age 20. The night before taking my SAT’s, my ex husband brought home a kitten. I was a bit stressed, and he thought a kitten would help get my mind off the test for the night. It worked. I fell in love with that little guy, but he ran away and I was sad. :-(  I can remember taking medicines to help with the allergy, but in time, we saw that it was best he ran away.

Fast forward – Age 24. RT wanted a cat. So what did we do? Brought a kitten home from my aunt’s house. *rolls eyes*  What were we thinking?  Kitty hung around for a while. He used to go out on the balcony and look out, so our only guess was that he got brave one day and jumped onto one of the nearby trees. RT was sad.  :-(

Fast forward – Age 28. Got a job at a ranch that has LOTS of cats and dogs. Ummm. I have nothing more to say about this. It speaks for itself.

Fast forward – Age 30. Move in with RM#1 and RM#2. Animal trainers. On average, there’s 6 dogs + 1 cat and often some noisy birds here. It’s a full house. I’ve come to learn that as long as I keep my face away from the animal, and don’t let the cat sleep on my bed or anything of the sort, I’m fine. I wash my hands often, to avoid rubbing my eyes and getting that accidental hair that stuck to my finger lodged in without hope of getting it out.

I can’t fast forward the remote any more. I’ve reached “live” time. So, I’m just going to sit here and watch Xena sleep. Her 13 year old body is exhausted from running around all day with the other dogs. Enough is enough. Time for a nap!

Cheers!
