Catching up

Boy, oh boy, oh boy. I have soooo much that I want to write about, but just don’t really know how to go about it. I guess we will do a catchup post today.

+ My vacation was okay. It took me 14 hours to get there. I left on a Monday morning, so didn’t have much traffic. Pretty much the only other people on the road with me were truckers. Every big town I came to, either had already had their rush hour or hadn’t had it yet. On the drive home, I had a lot more traffic. Because of this, I stopped less often than I did going up. By doing that, I was able to keep it at 14 hours. It was great to see family. I spent some time with some distant family that was in town. That was nice.

+ I’ve mentioned before that my family isn’t perfect. We are all a bunch of crazies, and we all know it. Because of this, a fight must happen every time we are together. I call shit like I see it. I’ve said it before, I’ll call you out on your bullshit whether you want to hear it or not. And that, is exactly what I did. To my sister and my mom. I can only hope that one day they figure it out.

+ My mom has turned from a responsible adult, to an irresponsible teenager. She used to hold down a full-time job. She was director of human resources after working her way up from a part time secretary. She raised two daughters and ran our household. Now, she’s retired, dates a man that is a horrible influence on her, drinks alcohol like a fish, doesn’t take care of her diabetes like a responsible person should, and tells anyone that tries to intervene with her decisions, to get out of her life. She’s my mother, and I love her, but at some point, you just have to let them fuck up on their own. Unfortunately, the bad decisions she’s making, will lead to diabetes killing her.

+ My cat missed me so much while I was gone. SS says he was sitting in my seat often, which is something he never does. And, he has slept with me every night since I’ve been home. I love that he loves me.

+ Since the big blowout with my sister and mom, I went through all my social media accounts and deleted so many people. People that might possibly share information with them, that I don’t want them knowing. People that are negative about everything in their lives. People that won’t post anything but political shit. People that are so desperate for any kind of attention, they post half naked pictures of themselves. I mean, if you have to explain that “it’s just a bathing suit”, you’re a fucking slut and I don’t have any interest in following you. It’s an amazing feeling to be free of people that will drag me down. I also deleted the one person that didn’t like the fact that SS and I were getting married. If you can’t be happy for us, bye bye! We won’t even invite you to the wedding if you don’t want. Ha!

+ It’s wonderful to be home. The big giant hugs and kisses I got from SS when I came home, made me the happiest woman in the world. It’s a wonderful feeling knowing that I can go away on a week long vacation, and still come back to a loving, and very understanding fiance. He really is the best and I’m extremely grateful for him every single day.

Okay, that’s enough. I’ve got stuff to do around the house. Can’t let this place get out of control. It’ll make me lose sleep.

Bye!

Week 5 - Auto Club Speedway

Whoa! It’s the end of March and I just realized I haven’t written anything this entire month. Oops!

Auto Club Speedway…

My Mom and her boyfriend came into town for six days, and during that time, we played around at Auto Club Speedway, inside the garages and the pits.

SS had to pee while we were walking around the garage area, and ended up peeing with Elliot Sadler, Erik Jones, Joey Logano, and Chad Knaus. So, in case you ever wanted to know, the bathroom in the garage area is the place to hang out…LOL!

Mom got to meet her most favorite driver ever - Elliot Sadler

Then, she got to meet her second favorite driver - Brad Keselowski

My Mom was in heaven during these two days of racing. She got signatures from eleven drivers, one Crew Chief, and one team owner. The weather was beautiful, so that made it even better.

SS got to play on the track before the race…

…then we stood in front of Driver Introductions, and got this great photo of the driver who swept the whole weekend - Kyle Larson!

Full panaramic photo from our seats…

Such an amazing weekend. On to Martinsville…

Letter to…

Happy Hump Day, Y’all!  :-)

Today I decided I would write to individual people. Some won’t see it, but some will.

Dear Sis: You ran a half marathon. HALF MARATHON! Do you realize what I just said? M-A-R-A-T-H-O-N. 13.1 miles. That’s 13 miles more than I ran that day. I’m so proud of you. Your will to push through all the pain, inspires me. Next year, we’re running it together. I can’t wait.

Dear RM#1: I understand your OCD and constant need to have everything perfect and clean, but just once I’d like to leave a dish in the sink and not have you wash it before me. ;-)

Dear RM#2: I’m anxious for you to come back. When I heard you were coming back this month (two months early!!), I was shocked, yet happy. There are some manly things around the house that need to be done. Hurry home!

Dear Mom: I’m anxious and excited for your visit this month, but I wish you weren’t staying at the hotel across the street from Jeffy’s house.

Dear Squid: Get your shit together. Stop getting speeding tickets. It’s cutting into your extra spending for NASCAR races and Stagecoach.

Dear Boss#2: If you don’t stop losing your credit cards, I’m going to lose my mind. I can’t keep covering for you with Boss#1. Oh, and thanks for the surprise $100 bill. HELPFUL!

Dear Jeffy: I still think about you. A lot. When certain songs come on the radio, I’m forced to change the channel simply because I refuse to break down and cry for you anymore. And when David at work asks about you, he acknowledges the pain in my face. It’s a side of David you’d never believe existed. But it does.

Dear RJ: I wish you’d let ME teach you to drive. I’m a much better driver than your dad.

Dear Mitch: Whatever happens, happens. Be a man in either situation. Allow her to just be her, but don’t let her take advantage of you. Don’t push (unless it’s from behind). Don’t make her sad, but allow her to cry if she is.

Dear Stepdad: You better kick this Cancer bullshit. I won’t tolerate you letting Cancer beat you.

Dear Kyle Busch: It’s been a rough Chase, I get it, but keep your head up and take on Phoenix and Richmond like never before. It’s a big year for you. You’ve shown an incredible amount of restraint in a few situations that I’m aware of. I’ve done almost everything I can to recruit new KB fans. I’m still working on a few. #KBShow

Dear Matt Kenseth: Please beat Jimmie Johnson.

9/30 Things: List 10 people who have influenced you and describe how.

In no particular order….

RJ: He makes me a better person. He gives me confidence that I can do anything. He makes me feel invincible.

BFF@work: He influences me to relax when I’m not working. He pushes me to enjoy time off and not let things beyond my control, control me.

StepDad: He raised me. Enough said.

JK: He makes me want to be a better girlfriend. ;-)

Sis: She influences me to play with her cats. Even if I don’t want to.

Squid: He influences me to be lazy. He’s one of my favorite people with whom to be lazy.

Mom: She taught me that hard work doesn’t always equal happiness.

Dad: Taught me about the kind of person I don’t want to be. He showed me an example of how unhappy life can be when you push everyone around you away.

Boss#1: He’s taught me the most about money.

DD: She is the one person, that makes me work hardest. She expects the most from me while I’m in the office. She doesn’t allow me to slack off. She is one of my closest friends.

A few days ago…

…I picked up my cell phone, stared at it for a minute before sliding my finger across the screen to unlock it, and thought, “Do I really want to tell her? Does she really care anyway? If she did, she would be in contact herself and would already know. Was it really her business in the first place?”.

The thoughts whirled around in my mind like an out-of-control tornado taking out houses, and before I knew it, I had searched through my contact list to get to her number, and was listening to it ring. One ring. Two rings. Three rings. Four rings. Five rings. Voicemail. Oh crap! What do I do?  Do I leave a message? What do I say? Do I say hello as if I’m excited to talk to her, cause I’m not. Crap! Crap! Crap! It’s almost time for the beep and I’m TOTALLY not ready to leave a message. If I hang up, she’ll never know I called. OH MY GOD IT’S GONNA BEEP.

I couldn’t come up with enough reasoning for her to actually KNOW about what I was going to tell her, so I decided, after listening to the beep, that I would hang up. No message. She didn’t answer, so she didn’t need to know. Simple. I like simple. Sometimes things work out for the best.

So Mom, if you’re reading this, know that RJ is doing just fine. The X and I are finally on the same page about something.

And one more thing while I’m addressing you directly. Forgetting to call Sis on her birthday, is ridiculous. There’s absolutely no excuse for it.

At least you called two days later. That makes up for it. (rolling eyes.)

44/365

This is Mom’s dog. I dislike this dog very much. He’s not trained. I’m used to being around trained dogs, so any dog that isn’t, is just beyond annoying to me. I’m not an animal lover, remember?

This dog barks at me when I walk in the front door. And he continues to bark at me even though Mom is yelling at him to stop. It’s very obnoxious. When he finally stops barking, I can only assume it’s because he’s figured out I’m not a threat. And I figured this out because he jumps on my lap despite my repeated pushing him off. Ew.

Meet, Chico…
