Venting

I’ve needed a good vent session lately, and while SS is super awesome at listening to me vent, sometimes I just need to get it out when he’s not around. So here it is…

+ When your child comes home with a flyer for school pictures, read the damn thing. Us photographers don’t want to hear shit like, “Who do we make the check out to?” or “How much do the pictures cost?” or “Can we take sibling or group friend pictures?” because while we will politely point out the info on the flyer so you can see it, we will go back to our office and talk about you.

+ While we’re on the topic of school pictures, let me add that when it comes time to pay, just put the damn cash or check in the envelope provided. There’s a reason you’re given those. Don’t staple or tape the cash or check to the envelope. THAT IS RIDICULOUS! IT WILL RIP WHEN WE TRY TO TAKE IT OUT! DON’T BE STUPID. If you’re an irresponsible person and lose everything, including the envelope, don’t just give your money to the teacher. We won’t know who you are without your envelope. They’re coded for a reason.

+ Contrary to what you believe, not everyone on your friends list, wants to see all the drama your life has. In fact, I can tell you that most of us roll our eyes because you bring on the drama. You create it yourself. Your life would be meaningless if you didn’t have drama. (These people usually end up getting deleted from my list because I just can’t…. nevermind. You get the point.

+ I’m really not excited about talking to wedding vendors. I’v put a few requests for quotes out, but when they call me back, I don’t answer. I force it to go to voicemail because I HATE talking on the phone. And since I can’t relinquish control of some things to SS, I’m forced to deal with it. Grrrr. This is when a wedding planner would come in handy. Oh how I wish we had unlimited funds.

+ I have ONE MORE MONTH of child support to pay. So very fucking excited about this that I can’t express the amount of excitment in text. You’d have to see my face. A little annoyed that the money won’t be going into a savings account for us, but I don’t get to make those decisions.

+ When you’re driving, PUT YOUR FUCKING PHONE DOWN! When you’re driving, PUT THE FUCKING MASCARA, EYESHADOW, AND LIPSTICK DOWN! When you’re driving, STOP SHOVING FOOD INTO YOUR FACE! Do you know why?
Because I value my life. I don’t want to be killed in a car accident because you think the conversation on your phone is more important. Or checking your fucking Facebook status or Snapchat secrets.
Because I value my life. I don’t want to be killed in a car accident because you’re more concerned about the way your makeup looks. Cover the ugly before you leave the house.
Because I value my life. I don’t want to be killed in a car accident because you’re looking down at the sauce that dripped on your shirt while stuffing your face. Get to your location five minutes earlier and eat your food without putting someone else in harms way. Be fucking aware. It’s not too much to ask that you keep your eyes on the damn road. You didn’t do any of that with a driving instructor in the car when you got your license, so don’t do it any other time. Ugh. Fucking people!!

That last one specifically spoke about the people of Southern California. I don’t drive anywhere else at the moment, so can’t speak about Portland or Miami or Park City drivers. But just because I wasn’t speaking specifically about your city, don’t ignore what I said.

Okay, enough! I hate the feeling that doing these vent sessions gives me. I feel angry and annoyed and just ultimately disgusted at the blatent disregard for other people.

The next post will be more positive, I promise. Stay tuned.

Vent Session

Grrrrrr. Today I’m frustrated, annoyed, irritated, upset, and a little angry.

I woke up 45 minutes before the alarm this morning, wide awake. I felt rested, and ready to take on the day. As I scanned through to check all the things on my phone that I check every morning (email, facebook, instagram, twitter, tmz…), a text came through. “Smile, your the first thing I think of when I wake up. :)”  Despite the spelling error,  it actually DID make me smile. It made my morning just a little better.

Between slow and stupid drivers, and kennel staff at my ranch that don’t know not to park in my spot, I was in irritation mode by the time I got to work. Sigh.

Know what made it even BETTER?? When I got into my office, there were four dogs (two of which shouldn’t have been in there), who had found it necessary to not only pee, but shit on the floor. So awesome, right?!?  I immediately called Boss#2, who I know was responsible for this, and let her know how unhappy I was with her.

I hope your Tuesday is less shitty than mine.

Grrr

Hmm. Not real sure where to go with this post. I’m feeling irritated about some things, so figured I needed to pick up this computer and type it out.

AAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!

  • If you don’t like me, don’t keep coming around. You only cause more trouble later. Do us both a favor and just walk away.
  • If you want to be with someone, then be with someone. If you don’t, then don’t. It’s really that simple. Stop playing games.
  • I’m over it. I’ve deleted the stupid dating app. I’m not going to find my Knight on the internet. I get that now.
  • Why can’t people appreciate what they have? So many times I’ve heard people say “I didn’t know what I had until he/she walked away”. Duh people! Realize it.
  • G’Night

11/30 Things: Describe 10 pet peeves you have.

  1. When someone doesn’t replace the toilet paper roll with a new one.
  2. When someone pulls into my lane, and isn’t going as fast as me. PEOPLE, DO NOT DO THIS! If you’re not going faster than the car you’re pulling out in front of, you deserve to be hit.
  3. When someone tells me they’ll call me, and don’t.
  4. When someone posts something on Facebook that all 500 of their “friends” didn’t need to read/see.
  5. When someone leaves a light on in a room that nobody occupies.
  6. People that wear sandals with dirty feet.
  7. Someone talking during a movie.
  8. When I order iced tea (with no lemon) at a restaurant, and they give it to me with lemon.
  9. When someone puts the cap on my pen. I leave it off for a reason. Don’t sit at my desk, use my pen, and change something about it. Don’t.
  10. Those impossible plastic packages that cut your hands up when you try to get into them.

Annoyed

  • I'm annoyed that people can't replace the toilet paper roll when it's empty. Really people? Is this too hard to do?
  • I'm annoyed that only on the mornings I want to sleep in, the dogs bark or growl. If they did it every morning, that'd be different.
  • I'm annoyed that The X won't grant our divorce to be final. It's been EIGHT years. Time to move on already.
  • I'm annoyed that there are important things I need to pay, but don't seem to have enough money.
  • I'm annoyed that some people can't keep their opinions about my relationships to themselves.
  • I'm annoyed that people cannot keep the doors closed, allowing flies to take over my entire office.
  • I'm annoyed by Mac.
  • I'm annoyed when the radio plays the same ten songs over and over and over in the same day.
  • I'm annoyed when someone calls me five times because they keep losing cell service. Go to a land line or wait till you have service, stupid.
  • I'm annoyed by slow drivers that pull out in front of faster cars. Those people are dumb. Just. Plain. Dumb.

Enough is enough

I'm not going to play your game. If you can't live without him, then by all means, take him. Have him all to yourself. I'm done fighting for him. Obviously it’s you he wants. This b.s. isn't worth it.

And now I’m annoyed that I have to spend energy thinking about this crap. Thanks, b***h.

I’m annoyed

There are less and less things that annoy me. Maybe it’s because I’m too lazy to get mad. Maybe it’s because I just don’t care about things anymore. Either way, this morning I’m annoyed.

It’s Saturday. And a beautiful one. Gorgeous blue skies. No wind. It’s probably in the high 60’s or very low 70’s out. I can hear the chirping of our little parakeets outside my window. It’s just beautiful. But at 8:30AM, I don’t want to be woke up by the annoying bark of a yapper dog. Or the pounding of a hammer. Or the sounds of power drills or saws. I just don’t.

I don’t care that you have home repairs to make before selling your house. I don’t care one bit. Know what I do care about? Sleeping in on the ONE day I can. That house is empty. Nobody has been there in over a MONTH and today is the day you want to come make a bunch of noise? Do it during the week when nobody is sleeping! Or wait to do the noisy stuff after lunch.

Since having been awaken with such an annoyance, the rest of my day is spent with an attitude I can’t hide. I become short with everyone. And then guess what happens? Everyone thinks I’m being mean or that I’m mad about something. I’m not! I am just holding onto this residual annoyance from the morning.

I guess now’s as good a time as any to start working on changing that. <sigh>   I just wanted to sleep in today, not rewrite the future.

Oops! I didn’t know I wasn’t allowed to disagree.

Every few months, I go through my Facebook friends list and delete a few people. I don’t do it because I don’t want to have anything to do with them. I do it because I want to save our relationship. I do it because I have no need to see the pictures of you standing in a bathroom mirror. I do it because I don’t want to continually hear you complain about how much your life sucks because your girlfriend/love of your life broke up with you after only three weeks. I do it because I don’t want to feel censored on my own page for fear of hurting your feelings.

Apparently, I have recently caused an uproar in the Facebook community that I reside. There’s this thing going around where everyone is changing their profile pictures to cartoons for child abuse. If you don’t know about it, it’s because you aren’t an active member of Facebook. No worries. You really haven’t missed anything. I don’t care what your reasoning’s are for changing your profile picture to a cartoon for this, but don’t complain because I refuse to do it. I’ve even heard seen people post replies saying, “…sometimes some opinions are better kept silent!”. Why? Because I have a different opinion than you? Really people? Really? My reasoning’s for refusing to change my picture don’t have anything to do with my belief in child abuse. Don’t pretend that I’ve said it does, because it simply doesn’t. By all means, you are free to post the lengthy blurb about how changing it will make a difference. I didn’t comment on it in disagreement, so why would you so rudely do that to me? Then, I read this…

Cartoons infiltrate Facebook, anti-child abuse message spills over

This was indicated in one of the participants' post on Facebook, which said, "so, i take it everyone who has taken the time to change their profile picture has also written their Congressmen demanding that the United States signs the U.N.'s Convention on the Rights of the Child? because, surely, that would be more helpful than changing our profile pictures."

Facebook has this cool feature that allows you to hide people’s comments, but if I feel like I need to be careful of what I say so to not hurt your feelings, I’m not going to hide you. I’m going to delete you.

Do not take offense. Just know that I’m trying to save our relationship. And the less drama Facebook brings to my life, the better off I am.

Day 06 - Your Day

BE WARNED! If you don’t want to hear me complain about the things that are bothering me today, STOP READING. I don’t want to hear any complaining later on about how rude I am in this post, or whatever other negative comments your mind comes up with. I’m in a crabby mood, and since this is where I get out all my ramblings, this is where I will post it. Again I warn you….STOP READING if you’re easily offended.

  1. The ability to log into Facebook does not dictate the attitude I will have during the course of the day, but when I’ve been trying for over three hours to log in with no success, it just becomes annoying. Sometimes I just need to know what’s going on in the Facebook world. Plus, I can’t have my crops dying on me.
  2. When I put a sign up at the ranch saying I need some specific information from a specific person, and FOUR weeks goes by without any acknowledgement that there’s even a notice put up, I’m annoyed. I’m not putting up that sign for my health. I’m putting it up so we can lower our car insurance rates. Geez people. Come on!
  3. When I have one single roll left from Rattler’s Restaurant, and I have it laid out beautifully on a plate next to my leftover tri-tip, I do not expect the dog to jump up on the table and take it. It was my only roll left, and for anyone that knows how delicious these rolls are, I know that you understand my pain. I would have been much less annoyed if the dog ate the tri-tip.
  4. When you tell me, “Call me back”, and I do (within five minutes), I expect you to answer the phone. When I leave a voicemail with the information you needed me to call you back with, you have absolutely no right to call and bitch at me for not getting back to you. Next time, answer the damn phone!
  5. When tape is in a tape dispenser, it doesn’t mean you can push the tape down so that the part that’s supposed to be straight, is touching the dispenser. The only part of the actual tape itself that’s supposed to be touching the dispenser is the very edge that touches the tearing teeth. Got it? Good. Now remember that, cause the next person that pushes the tape down, I’m going to give you a swift kick in the butt.

We Don’t Carry That Here

This morning, after another great breakfast, I accompanied JK to Lowe’s to buy a miter saw so he can continue working on the room. Apparently, a hand saw isn’t good enough to cut 4” baseboards. Prior to driving there, he called and asked if they had the one he wanted in stock, thus preventing us from having to drive there. He was told they do not carry anything of that brand. Hmm. It’s on their website, and he was just at Lowe’s yesterday when he bought the nail gun, so he is certain they carry the EXACT one he wants. The woman on the phone was adamant about it, and would have staked her life on the fact that they did not carry this item. “Can I talk to someone in tools?”, he says. When the guy got on the phone, JK told him the story of the woman who said they didn’t have that item, and after the guy gave the “I don’t really care” reaction, he mentioned they had ONE in stock. Perfect. In the car we jumped and away we went.

Upon arriving inside Tool World, we find the box the guy set aside. The guy was helpful and opened the box so we could see what we were getting, and when he did, I thought JK was going to hit the roof. The saw was all f*****d up and had about 2” of saw dust on it. (see picture below) To say JK was mad, was an understatement. The guy tried to stay professional as his company made him look more and more like an idiot, so I give him credit for that. We were sent on our merry way to another Lowe’s that according to the computer, had two in stock. Before leaving for the 2nd Lowe’s, JK made sure to stop and speak with the manager on duty about the dumb girl that tried to convince him they didn’t have a product that turns out to be THEIR OWN BRAND, and about the horrible way they tried to resell a product that was clearly used and damaged. To our amazement, he didn’t care. What has customer service come to?

Arriving at our second Tool World, we find the box they were holding for us, only this time, the box is half torn open and retaped with clear packaging tape. Clearly, a returned item. Bye now, JK had about had it. Two other employees happened to hear him (thanks to his talking so loud), and came over to see what the issue was. This time, one of the guys was the store manager OF THE OTHER LOWE’S WE WENT TO. JK told him the whole story, and when he started to show he was less than pleased with his staff, he offered JK the next model up at a discounted rate. (see picture below) Fine. That solves our needing a miter saw problem, but it doesn’t solve the problem that the dumbass people at Lowe’s are turning customers away because they are unaware of what their store carries.

The 9 years I worked in customer service, I knew where every item was on which isle and which shelf. I could tell you how far down the isle, top or bottom shelf, or which wing panel it was hanging. I took pride in knowing everything about the store I helped manage. These people, clearly don’t care.

And to top it off, when I asked someone at Lowe’s where I could find an American flag to hang outside my house, I was told, “We stopped carrying them.” WHAT????

Never.Shopping.At.Lowe’s.Again.  And another reason to dislike Jimmie Johnson’s Lowe’s #48 racing team.

Today…

…I did not get mad. I listened to someone yell, then throw a pen at my desk (unsatisfied at how it was writing). I listened to someone yell some more, and throw another pen at my desk (again, unsatisfied). This time, the pen exploded all over my desk, all over the floor, and all over my jeans. Then, to make matters worse, I was told to clean it up.

Today…I did not get mad.

I am grateful for whatever helped me get up and walk away, but the hole in my tongue from biting is not grateful.

Here goes…To Whom It May Concern

I’m going to be rude for one minute because I’m sick of the indirect accusations. I apologize in advance to those this does not directly relate to, but it’s my blog and my unfiltered thoughts about this, can not be hidden anymore.

If you do not know anything, NOT ONE F*ING THING, about my current situation, shut your damn mouth and mind your own f’ing business. You are not better than me to pass judgment. You know absolutely nothing about what I’ve been through over this past weekend, so shut your fat ass mouth and go back into the hole you crawled out of.

Go F-OFF!

I HATE…

…people that can’t come up with their own ideas.

…people that have to copy what I’ve done.

…people that have to take what I do, and throw it in my face as if it was THEIR ideas.

I hate you people!

I wonder…

LINT

…why people can’t empty the lint vent on the dryer. Lint is combustible. That means…it is capable of catching fire and burning.

Are You Sure You Want My Opinion?

opinion2

One thing I am not, is afraid to give my opinion. If I like something, I'll tell you. If I don't like something, I'll tell you that too, if I'm asked. There's absolutely nothing wrong with being honest with someone. If you want me to lie to you and tell you what you want to hear, then please start out our conversation with something like, I know you probably won't like this, but tell me you like it anyway so I feel better. Or maybe even, I know this isn't your type of thing, and you'll find it completely useless and maybe ridiculous, but tell me you like it anyway so it doesn't make me mad and I can avoid any conflict that might come of giving my honest answer, if in fact it is different than yours. Or, you can say, Check this out. Tell me what you think and respect the person for giving their honest opinion - THAT YOU ASKED FOR. I have faaaar to many other things to worry about in life, than whether or not my honest answer is going to hurt someone's feelings. People who know me, know what my expressions mean. Rarely do they mean anything super negative. There are only so many faces I can make and if you misunderstand one, it’s not my problem. Deal with it people.

val

*Side note: This blog was written because I gave my opinion about the work someone did on their car. My different opinion was obviously not what they wanted to hear and couldn’t deal with it. So, in hopes of preventing another incident like that with anyone else in my life, if you don’t want my opinion…DON’T ASK!

Annoyed with…

  • the wrappers on fast food straws that should just come off in one tear. but they don’t. at least not for me. maybe it’s the tremors I have that cause my hands to not function properly when it comes to opening straw wrappers. hmm. something to ponder for another post.
  • people leaving their gas tank lid open. really people? how hard is it to remember to close the damn lid AFTER YOU PUT THE CAP BACK ON THE TANK? hmm. rocket science?
  • the x won’t allow divorce to be finalized. grr.
  • commercials right at the bestpartoftheshow
  • people that take facebook too seriously. just let people say what they want to say. if you don’t want to see it, don’t look. they made it easy to ‘delete’ someone or even go so far as to ‘block’ someone. nike says it best – just.do.it.
  • the leachy media. go. away.
