Why I Dislike Most People

People ask me all the time Why do you hate people so much? or Why are you so negative about people? This is a perfect reason why…

Three women are facing criminal charges after investigators say they lied about a child's funeral to collect money. Authorities said the women were soliciting cash from drivers in Covina, but police say there is no funeral and no child, and that lying about it to make money is a crime.
"If they're acting together and there's three of them, that's a conspiracy. What they were doing was they were defrauding all these people. Basically, they were taking advantage of people's good nature and generosity," said Covina Police Department Sgt. Dave Foster.
Authorities believe the women collected nearly $1,000.
Police were tipped off that the women were in the same place a few weeks ago holding signs of the boy.
The women claimed the boy died in a car accident, but investigators say no such crash occurred.

Because there are so many idiots in the world. And I’m not going to waste my time trying to separate them from the normal people living every day life the right way.

Stupidity will cost ya

Things have a funny way of working out, and when they work out in my favor, I just sit back and laugh at the stupidity of others and hope it didn’t cost them a bundle. Hahaha

Hint for Mommies

Please, please, please take this hint…because not all drivers pay as much attention as I.

When you’re walking your kids on the sidewalk or on the street, KEEP YOUR KIDS ON THE SIDE AWAY FROM THE CARS. There’s less of a chance they’ll get hit or even possibly killed.

Geesh. What is wrong with people??

Please don’t touch my food (or spit in it)

Last night, JK took me to dinner to celebrate a very special day. Upon finishing dinner, I asked for a box to take home my leftovers. I almost always bring home extra food, so I've gotten pretty good at boxing up things a certain way that I'm comfortable with. The little bit of OCD I have in me doesn't like certain foods touching other foods, so when I put things away, I'm careful about it.

Last nights dinner had one exception. It was spaghetti, so everything was already mixed in. No problem. I didn't mind the Italian Sausage being thrown in with the spaghetti. BUT, I do have a very big problem with the waiter/waitress boxing my food for me. I know they do it out of politeness or maybe because that's the way they are required to do it by their boss, but it just doesn't sit well with me. I don't want the accidental slip of the finger to be into MY food.

I politely gritted my teeth and thanked her when she was done, but all the while she was boxing it up, I couldn't help but think to myself, Oh dear God. I hope a hair doesn't fall off her head and land in my food. Or, Please don't accidentally spit in my food while you're talking to us.

I so badly wanted to tell her I would do it myself, but I already had been rude when we sat down and didn't get so much as a 'hello' from anyone until 6 or 7 minutes after sitting. At least someone could have offered us drinks. Geesh.

We Don’t Carry That Here

This morning, after another great breakfast, I accompanied JK to Lowe’s to buy a miter saw so he can continue working on the room. Apparently, a hand saw isn’t good enough to cut 4” baseboards. Prior to driving there, he called and asked if they had the one he wanted in stock, thus preventing us from having to drive there. He was told they do not carry anything of that brand. Hmm. It’s on their website, and he was just at Lowe’s yesterday when he bought the nail gun, so he is certain they carry the EXACT one he wants. The woman on the phone was adamant about it, and would have staked her life on the fact that they did not carry this item. “Can I talk to someone in tools?”, he says. When the guy got on the phone, JK told him the story of the woman who said they didn’t have that item, and after the guy gave the “I don’t really care” reaction, he mentioned they had ONE in stock. Perfect. In the car we jumped and away we went.

Upon arriving inside Tool World, we find the box the guy set aside. The guy was helpful and opened the box so we could see what we were getting, and when he did, I thought JK was going to hit the roof. The saw was all f*****d up and had about 2” of saw dust on it. (see picture below) To say JK was mad, was an understatement. The guy tried to stay professional as his company made him look more and more like an idiot, so I give him credit for that. We were sent on our merry way to another Lowe’s that according to the computer, had two in stock. Before leaving for the 2nd Lowe’s, JK made sure to stop and speak with the manager on duty about the dumb girl that tried to convince him they didn’t have a product that turns out to be THEIR OWN BRAND, and about the horrible way they tried to resell a product that was clearly used and damaged. To our amazement, he didn’t care. What has customer service come to?

Arriving at our second Tool World, we find the box they were holding for us, only this time, the box is half torn open and retaped with clear packaging tape. Clearly, a returned item. Bye now, JK had about had it. Two other employees happened to hear him (thanks to his talking so loud), and came over to see what the issue was. This time, one of the guys was the store manager OF THE OTHER LOWE’S WE WENT TO. JK told him the whole story, and when he started to show he was less than pleased with his staff, he offered JK the next model up at a discounted rate. (see picture below) Fine. That solves our needing a miter saw problem, but it doesn’t solve the problem that the dumbass people at Lowe’s are turning customers away because they are unaware of what their store carries.

The 9 years I worked in customer service, I knew where every item was on which isle and which shelf. I could tell you how far down the isle, top or bottom shelf, or which wing panel it was hanging. I took pride in knowing everything about the store I helped manage. These people, clearly don’t care.

And to top it off, when I asked someone at Lowe’s where I could find an American flag to hang outside my house, I was told, “We stopped carrying them.” WHAT????

Never.Shopping.At.Lowe’s.Again.  And another reason to dislike Jimmie Johnson’s Lowe’s #48 racing team.

Please don’t sweep at my table!

Today during lunch, I’m happily enjoying the wonderful orange chicken I had ordered, when I notice an employee sweeping throughout the restaurant. Now, I don’t have a problem with them sweeping up after people who are sloppy and don’t know what a trashcan is, but when they come up to my table and start sweeping around where I’m eating, that’s where I draw the line. It’s just plain gross.

With all my irritation boiling inside me, I took a deep breath and said in as pleasant a voice as I could muster, “Could you please not sweep around my table while I’m eating?” She walked away and swept near someone else’s table. I got some strange looks from the people around me, but too bad. I don’t want other peoples crap flying through the air into my food. Is that too much to ask? Ugh.

Ramble, ramble and more ramble.

Today, I woke up to the sound of the bird, talking ever so quietly to herself. She’s an interesting creature. I switched on the race, and wasn’t surprised to see Jimmie Johnson take the lead only seconds later. “Goooo Kyle!” I tossed and turned as I tried to get the perfect position to where my drooling wasn’t going to bother me, as I stared ever so intently at the TV, watching Kyle take back that first place position. I laid there thinking about all the things I needed to do. A few things need to wait until payday, or the next, but they’ll get done, eventually. Some things can be done today, but it required me getting my butt up, making myself presentable, and driving away. All of which, I did not want to do.

Just a few short minutes later, Jimmie took the lead back from Kyle. This was my cue to get up, because I was just going to get irritated if I continued to watch Jimmie dominate. I heard RM#1 roaming the house, so I got up to say hello. I sat down, checked email, fb, and unread blogs and decided it was time to get moving. I was beginning to feel the desire Jimmie was having to win the race, come through the TV, so I got up and got in the shower to wash his cooties off. Ha. Yeah, I said it. I said cooties. Ha.

Out the house I go, yet unclear of where exactly I needed to be going. I was hungry, yet questioned my desire to spend my last few dollars on a bunch of fast food that I could make leftover with. As I usually do, I listened to the wrong little angel on my shoulder, and my car drove straight to Panda Express. I sat down to eat it, and about 5 bites in, I was full and ready to leave. Instant leftovers.

I decided that the other things I needed to do, just didn’t fit into my bank account importantly enough to do today, so I grabbed my leftovers and headed home. While getting in my car, I saw the bright yellow NASCAR jacket that I needed to have dry cleaned. “Oh! I’ll stop and drop it off. That’s free.” Okay, so, apparently, there’s an unwritten rule somewhere that I didn’t know about, that has to do with all dry cleaners being closed on Sunday’s. Um. I just wish I had overheard this rule in a conversation once, or read it on a “weird facts” website or something, cause I felt soooo stupid when I walked up to the door.

Setup: The door was propped open. There was a woman standing behind the counter and another woman standing in the doorway. They were chatting. I got out of my car, walked up to the door and stood there as they both stopped talking and just stared at me. I glanced at the window to see their business hours for Sunday, but there weren’t any. Hmm. Here’s how the conversation went:  (WBC = woman behind counter)

WBC: Come on in

ME: I thought maybe now wasn’t a good time to come in because you guys stopped talking and just stared at me like I was interrupting something.

WBC: Well, we’re closed.

ME: {with a big grin, but a kind of snoot in my ‘tude} Oh, then I’ll come back when you’re open. I wasn’t aware you were closed since the door was open and there were people standing in the doorway chatting with you. I apologize. {I start to walk out, but she stops me}

WBC: All dry cleaners are closed on Sunday’s. You’re already here, so I’ll help you.

ME: {still holding my big grin and small ‘tude} Oh, well, again, I apologize. I do not frequent dry cleaners, so I apologize for not being up on the “days off” of a dry cleaner. I would have assumed they’d be open on a Sunday, when everyone else is off work, but whatever. To each his own. I enjoy my days off too.

I returned home to see the end of the race. *Smile*  I even got a celebratory “Go Kyle” text from JK today. (He’s out of state, so I’m missing him.)
