I have the funk

Yesterday I came home early from work because I wasn't feeling great. I went home, let the dogs out, and fell asleep. I woke up a few hours later not feeling any better, yet knew I couldn't keep sleeping.

I got out of bed, let the dogs in, and finally decided to cook a hamburger for dinner. Just as it was ready, I threw a hamburger bun in the microwave, pulled out the pickle jar, and grabbed a water bottle. The microwave beeped, and I turned off the skillet. Mmm. The smell of cheeseburger filled the house.

I had noticed something strange about the hamburger buns when I took them out of the fridge, but figured they'd be okay once I nuked 'em. Wrong. I don't know what was wrong, but they were a bit hard going into the microwave, and even harder coming out. The few short seconds didn't help.  :-(

Into the trash the buns went. I stood there staring at my hamburger patty thinking, Oh shit. Now I don't have anything to eat it on. Ew. Guess where it went? Into the trash with the buns. And I? I sat in the middle of my kitchen floor and cried, uncontrollably. Then Kasey came over and made me feel better.

JK called. I told him about my meltdown and he invited me over for dinner. Nice guy, eh? Turns out, his day was not any better, just in a different way. So, we came together and kicked out bad days butt. Unfortunately, events beyond either one of our controls kept us awake a better part of the night, but at least we weren't hurting/in pain alone.

I'm home from work today to try to rest through this icky funk. Funk sucks.
