fail

Today is my last day house sitting. For the last nine weeks, I didn’t lose, break, or ruin anything (with the exception of a small plant that died on me, because clearly, I don’t have a green thumb). I was gloating to a friend about how responsible and proud of myself I was for making it a whole two months living on my own for the first time. Then, I came home from dinner last night and remembered exactly why I never praise myself.

I came home from work yesterday, and in a hurry, I put the scoop for the dog food on a small shelf that is above their cans. I don’t know why I did this. I’m supposed to leave the scoop in the cans, but last night, I didn’t. I will never understand what lead me to do this, but I’m sorry I did. When I got home from a lovely, relaxing, and enjoyable dinner, I saw the scoop laying on the floor in the doorway that leads to the master bedroom. Oh My God! is all I could say. How was I going to explain this? <sigh> And to make matters worse, I can’t find the handle part that was chewed off.

I’m sorry, Sue.  :-(
