Oh. Em. Geeeeeee. Have you heard this song? I ♥♥♥ it sooo much. ‘Cause it’s fun. Fun, fun, fun…till your daddy takes the t-bird away. Oops. Got a little carried away there. Apologies.
Kevin Fowler seems to have set his sights on following in the footsteps of Pat Green and Jack Ingram to national success with his latest effort, "Pound Sign (#?*!)." Does he have a single which will appeal to the masses outside of the southwest? I sure hope so, cause this song is fuuuuuuuuun!
Don’t worry about the smallness of the video screen. There’s nothing there to watch, so just read the lyrics along with the song. It’s cute. I swear. Enjoy! :-)
Dog tired, yeah I’m wired
Up tighter than an E string about to break
Tail draggin’, a little ragged
Hangin’ by a thread that’s startin’ to fray
Just in case there might be little ears around,
I won’t say it, I’ll just spell it out
chorus:
I feel like #?*! (pound sign, question mark, star, exclamation point)
Don’t give a blank and a whole lotta other choice words I can’t say
Today I feel like #?*! (pound sign, question mark, star, exclamation point)
Hung over, a lot closer
To ringin’ death’s door than I was yesterday
Head achin’ hands shakin’
Badly in need of a shower and shave
Yeah I know I’m lookin’ a little rough,
The least I can do is clean my language up
I feel like #?*! (pound sign, question mark, star, exclamation point)
Don’t give a blank and a whole lotta other choice words I can’t say
Today I feel like #?*! (pound sign, question mark, star, exclamation point)
(instrumental)
I think I partied a little too hard last night
Let’s see here now how do I put this right?
I feel like #?*! (pound sign, question mark, star, exclamation point)
Don’t give a blank and a whole lotta other choice words I can’t say
Today I feel like #?*! (pound sign, question mark, star, exclamation point)
Don’t give a blank and a whole lotta other choice words I can’t say
Today I feel like #?*! (pound sign, question mark, star, exclamation point)
% @ / ~ (percentage sign, at symbol, backslash, squiggle thing)
#?*! (pound sign, question mark, star, exclamation point)
See…country music can be fun. Not always about your spouse leaving you, dog running away, truck breaking down, blah, blah, blah. There are funny songs about alcohol making clothes fall off, funny songs about myspace/facebook, songs about birds singing in the trees, songs about dogs, songs about riding tractors, songs about falling in love in high school, songs about …. I think you get the point, so no need to go on.
By the way, there was a country song done years ago by David Allan Coe and featured Waylon Jennings, Charlie Pride and Merle Haggard (3 of country music’s greatest singers) – in 1994 to be exact – about the “typical country” song. Listen to it here. It’s a good laugh, at the very least. The final verse, as you will hear, was added in later. It was a satirical final verse that intentionally uses exaggerations of country music clichés. Enjoy!
