I giggle every time SS tickles me, RJ tells me a silly joke, I watch the Big Bang Theory, and when my boss’ daughter gives me a high five.

I didn’t know what the hell washi tape was, so I went to Google, cause, you know, Google know everything! Apparently, it’s some sort of tape that has different designs on it. Big whoop. I rarely use tape, and when I do, I don’t want it to be visibly different. I just like regular tape.

Does that make me boring? Maybe.
Does that make me square? Perhaps.
Does that make me unimaginitive? Most definitely.
Deal with it.

In The Garden

I don’t have a garden, but if I did, it would be littered with Gnomes. I have five different Gnomes, but two of them have two Gnomes together, so technically I have seven different ones. I think they would do an amazing job protecting my garden from unwanted visitors. One day.

Chores

Sis and Squid are in town for the weekend, so it’s been nothing but chores, chores, and more chores for a few days now. They stay in the same room RJ and Lil’ SS stay in when they’re here, so it needs a once over. You know, after a 15 year old teenager stays in there for a few weeks, it’s not exactly pretty.

What I Wore Today

I meant to take a picture of myself today, but TOTALLY FORGOT! Aaaahhh.

So, instead, here’s a photo of me from a few years ago, with the same outfit on. That makes it kind of the same, right? ;-)

Blue jeans and a t-shirt (usually a white one) are my typical outfit. This is a gray shirt, because sometimes it’s just a gray shirt kind of day.

@3pm

I set an alarm on my phone for 2:57p so that I’d remember to pay attention to what I was doing at 3pm. At 3pm today, I was in the middle of talking to my boss and one of the trainers, when the alarm went off. I set a different type of sound than my usual annoying alarm so that just in case I was on the phone with a production company, it didn’t start blaring some awful sound and interupt my call.

Thankfully, the guys just laughed at my silly triangle instrument sound and had to know why I had it going off at some weird time. Then, I explained this, and they looked at me like I had way too much time on my hands.

Boys. They just sometimes don’t understand.

Well this will be a boring post. I don’t have hobbies. I don’t have time for hobbies. Work and school keeps me very busy. If cooking can be considered a hobby, then I’ll go with that because I have to do that every single day.

Writing Challenge: Day 12

Favorite Recipe

There are so many things that I cook every week, that narrowing it down to just one, would be really difficult. So here’s one…

Ingredients:
-1 pound jumbo shrimp, shelled and deveined
-Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
-2 tablespoons unsalted butter
-2 teaspoons minced garlic
-1/4 cup dry white vermouth
-1/4 teaspoon grated lemon zest plus 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
-2 teaspoons finely chopped flat-leaf parsley leaves

Directions:
Put the shrimp on a large disposable pie pan or paper plate and pat them completely dry with a paper towel. Arrange the shrimp so they lay flat and are evenly spaced.
Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Season the shrimp with salt and pepper. Add the butter to the skillet. When the foaming subsides, raise the heat to high and invert the plate of shrimp over the skillet so the shrimp fall into the pan all at once. Cook the shrimp, without moving them, for 1 minute. Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute. Turn the shrimp over and cook for 2 minutes more. Transfer the shrimp to a bowl.
Return the skillet to the heat and pour in the vermouth and lemon juice. Boil the liquid until slightly thickened, about 30 seconds. Scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan with a wooden spoon. Stir the lemon zest and parsley into the sauce. Pour the sauce over the shrimp, season with salt and pepper to taste and toss to combine.

It’s a recipe I got from FoodNetwork.com several years ago and finally decided to make last night.

Favorite Place Outdoors

There are several outdoor places that I would consider my favorite.

One would be the Santa Barbara Beach. It was my parents favorite place to go when we were growing up, so we spent a lot of time there. As I became an adult, I always found myself going back to that beach in search of some familiarity when everything was starting to change. Today, it’s an even deeper love that I have for it knowing that StepDad is floating around in those waters somewhere.

What You Had For Breakfast

Sunday is typically the morning that SS goes out and gets bagels for us for breakfast. It’s something his dad did when he was growing up, so it’s apparently something he wants to continue doing. And it’s definitely okay with me. No complaints.

However, today is MOTHER’S DAY! So today, we are meeting Steve’s family for lunch, and I happened to sleep in, so didn’t eat breakfast. But believe me, if I had eaten breakfast, it would have been bagels. ;-)

Where You Like To Shop

I shop at so many different places, depending on how much money I’m looking to spend. From The 99 cent store to Target to JCPenny to online shopping at Etsy, it just depends what I’m looking for.

I don’t have one that I like more than the other, because shopping is not my favorite thing to do. If I could pay someone to shop for me, I’d do that instead. I just don’t like it.
