It’s Friday, and since it’s been a while since we’ve done one of these, let’s get to it.
Dear RJ: It’s been a great three weeks. I’m sad to see you go, but know that you’ll be back over the summer. Focus on what is important, and get through this last year of high school. You’ll be fine.
Dear Lil’ SS: Another two weeks at Christmas has come to an end, and you’re headed back to Arizona tomorrow. This time you’ll be flying, by yourself. I know you’re nervous and scared and afraid and, and, and, but it’s not really that big of a deal. You’re making it worse than it is. You spend the rest of the entire year pretending you’re older than you are, and now you want to act like you’re not old enough to do it? (Insert eye roll here.) We’ll miss you and see you in Summer.
Dear Mom: I’m so very thankful that you came down to spend Christmas with RJ and I. It meant a lot to me, and I know Ryan loved having his ‘Grammy’ around again. Can’t wait to see you in March.
Dear Network Television Channels: Can’t wait until this New Year break is over, and our shows are back to regularly scheduled programming.
Dear SS: We’ve spent four Christmases together now, and none of them have been the same. Each one, different in it’s own way, has shown me that no matter what circumstances we face, we still come out together. And I love you more and more each day because of it. You work so hard to provide for our family, and trust me when I say it doesn’t go unnoticed. You may not get the appreciation or recognition you deserve from some people, but when you come home every day to a hug, kiss, and smile, I see the look in your eyes when you realize the recognition and appreciation from home, is all that matters.
Dear NASCAR: 44 days until you’re back on my tv. Thank goodness, because as much as I know the drivers love getting a break, us fans dislike having to find something else to entertain us. We don’t watch football in this house (can I get a hallelujah for that!?!), so weekend marathon reruns of NCIS it is!
