Google+

google_plus_logoWhat is this about?

Is this supposed to be the new Facebook? If so, I’m so very confused. I don’t remember having this much trouble trying to learn Facebook, or even MySpace. They both seemed easily adaptable at the time. This seems to have a little different edge, so not quite the same ease of adaptability can be expected.

I don’t get the “Circles”. I think the idea of it is so that you only share information you post on your wall with certain “circles” of people (i.e. friends, family, coworkers), but it’s an extra step I find annoying. If I’m going to throw up a status message or a picture real quick, the last thing I want to do is scroll through a bunch of names and have to pick the one I want. If I’m not in a hurry, no big deal. I guess.

And, I only have three friends right now. And they don’t even hardly write on there. So it’s not like I have a heavy traffic flow right now to watch. No practice means I don’t learn the program.

And I don’t have an App for it. Neither my iThingy or my Droid has an App. This makes it not so easy to watch. I can’t sit with a webpage open all day (okay, okay. I can. But that’s not the point.) If it’s going to succeed, it needs a little bit more.

All that being said, I truly believe that Google will get their s**t together and make an amazing thing out of this. Google will take over the world one day. I’d like to go tell Zuckerberg to suck it, but he’s provided me with countless laughs and endless memories, so I just can’t do it.

If anyone knows any secrets about Google+ they’d like to share, I welcome them. Or even just some simple “how to” basics they’d like to provide me with, I’d gladly listen. I just don’t seem to get it. I hope I’m not alone.

P.S. Go Kyle Busch!

xoxo val
