Dinner.

K Mo, my other bff @ work, but female (Yep. Believe it. I'm friends with a girl. Shhhh.), wanted to go out to dinner for my birthday. There were six of us.

K Mo and her boyfriend didn't know anyone else but me, so we decided to play 101 questions. You know, each ask a question, everyone takes turns answering. A bit of a dangerous game, if you ask me.

Not real sure who asked it, but the question was "if you could kill anyone, who would it be?". Each person had an answer. Some plausible. Some....not.

It gets to JK, and he says "your father", in response to something Sis said.

Whoa!  Not even *I* have said those words. And if there's anyone that should say it, it would be me. :-(

I was so shocked, I didn't know how to react. I continued in with the conversation to avoid any topic issues, but continued to be bothered by it. Being three beers in, I know for certain I would cause a fight. Not interested.

Honestly, I was hurt. I felt like saying "how dare you". I totally understood his thought and meaning behind it, but still, how dare he.

I'm still, five days later, irritated about it. I know I need to say something. It's the only thing to do. I know, I know.

An apology isn't what I want, but asking him to not feel that way, isn't my intention either.

Sometimes, adult conversations aren't fun. :(

New Darius Rucker song

A few nights ago, BFF@work took me to dinner because he knew I wouldn’t be crying in the restaurant (little did he know).

Anyway, I get into his truck and he’s got some classic rock garbage playing on the radio. After giving him a hard time about it, he switches it over to one of the country stations and says Is this better? Would you really rather hear this… (insert pause as first verse plays)

Listen… It’s good. I promise.

…than something less sad? Although I love this new Darius Rucker song, perhaps that moment wasn’t the best time to complain about hearing his music. Another lesson learned.

And I’m quite certain there wasn’t even one second that went by before he changed the channel when I got out of the car. Hahaha.

Believe it or not, I actually DO make mistakes

A few nights ago, Thursday to be exact, I was feeling like having a margarita. What better place than a Mexican restaurant? JK, being the fabulous, loving, wanting-to-make-me-happy kind of guy, took me for just the thing. I went ahead and ordered a margarita, and then another. I’m not a drinker. I drink once every six or seven months, so of course, they went right to my head. Whoo!

As we were leaving, I remember thinking to myself It’s been a while since I’ve been tipsy. This is kind of nice. (Anything after this very point in the evening, I am not taking responsibility for. It was all the tequila.) As I mentioned in a previous post, JK had his car stolen not too long ago, so he’s now driving a brand new car, that I’m not familiar with yet. On any given day, sober or not, I would walk right past it not knowing which car it was.

As we’re approaching the car, JK pushed the unlock button. I walk up to the passenger door, think to myself, these handles look different, but figured I just wasn’t used to the car yet so maybe I was wrong, and opened up the door. Once the door was opened, this is the conversation that took place:

Me: “Where did all this stuff come from?”

JK: “What stuff?” as he’s opening up the driver door.

THREE SECOND PAUSE

JK: “Oh shit! This isn’t my car!!”

We both closed the doors as quickly as we could, and looked around to make sure nobody saw us. His car was 2 spots over. We couldn’t stop laughing. On the way home, JK called three people just so they could laugh AT us, not with us.

Worst part? It wasn’t even the same kind of car!

Always smiling

Tonight, my JK took me to dinner. I went to the salad bar, and when I came back to our table, this was waiting for me…
