Saturdays are better than any other day

Saturday Mornings. They’re my favorite. I wake up at 6:30a, toss and turn, cuddle with SS, and bask in the beautifulness that is my view from bed. It’s awesome, and I’m grateful for it.

A trainer friend of mine has some chickens on her property, so she brought me some fresh eggs. I’ve never had fresh chicken eggs before, and since I’m told their so much better than store-bought, I was anxious to try them. Saturday morning seemed like the perfect opportunity. So, I hopped out of bed and made breakfast for SS before he left for work.

He gobbled through them like he hadn’t eaten in two days, so I assume they were good.   Score!

Happy Saturday, y’all!

Saturdays without NASCAR are okay too.

My last day of housesitting was today. I expected to spend it sitting on the couch staring at the NASCAR truck race on television while cuddling with this poodle…

Which would have been TOTALLY fine with me.

Instead, RJ wanted to hang out. And that was even MORE fine with me.

BFF@work told me about this place where you can play miniature golf in the dark (think black lights), so The X and I agreed to meet up there so RJ could have a little fun.

After all that excitement, we decided to eat. Milkshakes and burgers for everyone. :-)

THEN y’all, he wanted to go to the park and show me how he was learning to ride a bike. So, we went.

AND HE FINALLY LEARNED HOW TO RIDE!

Soooo excited!! (Proud Mama moment.)

He was a little apprehensive about riding down this curb, but he did it. Slowly. (Even at 11yrs old, things can still be scary.)

Super fun day.

Tomorrow, NASCAR from Martinsville. Go Kyle. #18

Saturday

I love Saturdays.

Sleeping in later than the time I get up during the week, is awesome. I wish I could do it. No matter what, I’m awake before 8am. What’s up with that? I laid in bed this morning, tossing and turning, trying to comfortably place my head so that my neck didn’t hurt. I turned on the television, since it usually is something that relaxes me and helps me fall asleep, but all I did was stare at SpongeBob and wonder How in the hell did this stupid sponge become so popular?

I had a movie date with my son today. (I definitely will be reviewing that movie. Stay tuned…) And because I’m such a fabulously fantastic person, I invited his dad. Yes, The X and I sat in the same movie theater, together. And you know what? WE DIDN’T FIGHT! We didn’t even say mean things. He even helped me with a car issue I’m having.

I officially harbor no ill will or hate towards The X.

I think I have felt this way for a while, and in fact might have given that impression to JK at one point, but never actually had the opportunity, or even the need to say it. But today, I’m saying it.

I remember the day I burned this bridge. It was horrible. I then tried to cross it a couple of years later, only to find myself face down when the bridge ended. I worked hard to rebuild it, so naturally I’m thrilled to be able to cross the bridge without falling off the edge. I built it strong, and I will not let anyone or anything tear it down. No earthquake can make this bridge tumble.

Saturday. I love Saturdays. :-)

Weekend recap. Blah.

RM#1 has been out of town all weekend. I’ve had the house to myself to do what I want with. THIS is not how I had hoped it would go.

I was awaken Saturday morning at 5:30am by a violent urge to throw up. WTF? For the next 2.5hrs, I laid on my bathroom floor because it was too painful to keep getting up. I forced water down, but my body said no way. we don’t want anything and threw it up. I took Pepto and again my body laughed. I had to cancel my visitation with RJ because it would have been impossible to drive up there. The X said RJ was disappointed, but it wasn’t something I really had any control over. Clearly my body is trying to tell me something, and I really need to listen. Sorry RJ.

For 24 hours straight, I’ve felt like I just want to die. Two different people offered to come over and just sit with me so I wasn’t alone, but I refused. I tried to watch a few movies, but staying concentrated proved very difficult.

Today, I haven’t thrown up yet. (I guess the 80 times yesterday was enough.) My stomach muscles ache. My chest muscles feel like they’re on fire and it’s painful to take deep breaths. I wish I could sleep it off, but with the twitching of my muscles, and the tingling going on inside my body, sleep seems more like an imaginary thing than reality.

Oh how I wish I would feel better by tomorrow. I really dislike having to go to work sick. It’s never pleasant.

Happy Sunday readers!

Successful Saturday

Hello my readers! Guess what?

I got my hair did! No more 1/2 brown 1/2 blonde. No more split ends. No more long stringy strands. It’s fab. I love it. It’s hard to see it in this picture, but I didn’t do a before and after shot, so this is what you get. Sorry. Just take my word for it. It’s waaaaaaaay better!

I got the new battery for my laptop today. Yay! No more your battery is operating at minimum capacity. please consider replacing messages.   Thank you, Spam.

Family starts coming into town on Wednesday for LZ’s wedding, so I probably won’t be posting much after that. At least until Monday afternoon.

Saturday afternoon

Saturday afternoon in northern Los Angeles. Beautiful sunny 76* weather, with a slight breeze blowing at 13mph (so it says on The Weather Channel). I see a few white clouds in the sky, but not many. Just enough to celestially decorate the bright blue sky.

I just did a bit of weeding. The annoyance of weeds growing in the grass just pushes me over the edge sometimes. The sprinklers are on now that the gardeners have left, so the smell of fresh cut grass mixed with water is blowing across my yard. *Deep breath* I just love that smell.

Charlie seems to be enjoying this weather as much as I. She was rolling on the cement and in the grass (pre sprinklers). Now, just laying in the shade with the wind blowing her fur, is enough.

Sometimes it’s the simple things that make life so amazing. Happy Saturday, and I hope everyone’s Saturday is/was as amazing as mine. :-)

G’Night Moon.

moon following me

I can remember when I was little, looking up at the moon and wondering why it was following me. Why did it want to go where I was going? I remember thinking to myself, lots of other people are doing much more exciting things. go follow them. shoo! go away!

Today, I still look up at the moon, but I’m not shooing it away anymore. I’m in love with the moon. I love every part of the way it lights up the sky. There are often times I can see the moon (or my room is lit up from it’s bright glow) when falling asleep, that I wish the Man in the Moon a good night.

Good night to my readers, and good night to the Man in the Moon. :-)
