Workout: Day 21

It never gets
EASIER
You just get
BETTER

Exercise. It’s something I have feared since the last day of my basketball season in high school. I took a basketball/p.e. class at the local community college a few years ago, but that semester was so much more about shooting hoops with the guys, than it was actual conditioning.

Sit ups: Today, we do 90. That may seem like a lot, but it really isn’t. After doing 130 crunches, going up to the knee, doesn’t seem like such a big issue.

Crunches: 130. THAT is a lot. When we first started, we did five. FIVE crunches. And I thought THAT was a lot. And they were painful. Today, I can get to 60 without having to stop. I take a 20 second stretch break, and I’m right back at the remaining few. They do get easier, but it’s still not easy.

Leg Raises: Look. When I first started doing these, I thought it was a joke. How hard could these really be? Boy, was I mistaken. These are just as hard to do as the rest of it. These are what make me break out into a sweat. Maybe I have heavy legs?

Plank: This is my favorite exercise. It’s hard, don’t get me wrong, but it’s the easiest for me. Today we do 80 seconds. And THAT seems like a really long time after you’ve already done 90 sit ups, 130 crunches, 52 leg raises, and 50 butt bridges.

Exercise isn’t something I’m going to get into full time. I’m not interested. However, Sis and Squid just signed up for the Magic Mountain 5K run. And since you get a half price ticket to Magic Mountain when you register, it only seems right that I register to run as well. It’s only 5K. It can’t be THAT hard, right?

Find your strong.
