Sugar cereal

When I was growing up, I wasn’t allowed to eat sugar cereals. We had to eat cereals like Raisin Bran, or Special K, or Shredded Wheat. As I got older, I started to get used to the non sugary cereals and didn’t want to eat the sugary ones. They were attractive in color, and the animated characters that represented them were fun, but it wasn’t something my tummy felt it needed.

Now that I’m an adult, and can pretty much make my own decisions on food I eat, when I walk down the cereal isle, I still steer away from the sugary cereals. It’s Raisin Bran and Special K cereal boxes that are inside my kitchen cabinets.

However, the last time I went to the store, I got something sugary. *sigh*  I don’t know why. Perhaps I was being distracted by JK, who was talking to me about lighter fluid at the time. Or maybe it was the lady in the isle that wouldn’t move her cart away from the section of the isle I wanted to be looking at. I don’t know. Either way, I got a sugary cereal that my teeth are not crazy about. With every bite, I feel sugar. It’s just not for me.

This box of cereal may sit around for a while.

What do YOU think about sugar cereals? What’s your favorite? What’s your least favorite? Do you let YOUR kids eat sugary ones?
